2008-09-12 [Lasagna Hater]: *sighs wearily and nods* Yeah, you're both right. I know for sure that I'm not telling my stepdad for several reasons:

1. He's not my biological father, and has never made a true effort to be a father to me.
2. He's not a nice person at all. He HAS to have something to complain about just so he can complain.
3. He's a disrespectful jerkface who is always mean to everyone in my house. He's only nice to my mom when he either wants money from her, wants to go out with his friends (which is all the time) and when he wants to punish me and/or my sisters. (I'm the oldest of three daughters at 19.)
4. He is a lazy ass with NO ambition. He had a sports scholarship at CSU Stanislaus, which is in California. But he decided to throw that away by quitting after his first semester. And he hasn't even tried to go back to school. 
5. He's the reason why I wanted to commit suicide my freshman year of high school. Don't worry, I'm not suicidal and haven't been in years, but that has to be my main reason.

I didn't mean to get on my soapbox about this and ramble, but he is a real thorn in my side and has been ever since Mom let him in the house when I was six. On a positive note, I did come out to my real dad last year, when I thought I was gonna go to college out in Tennessee where he lived. I told him even before things were set in stone, so that way he knew what was going on and I wouldn't have anything to hide. Even though he's hardcore Christian, he's actually a really understanding and laidback person. When I told him that I was Wiccan, he was shocked but oddly understanding. He did some research and tried to read a few books, but he couldn't finish them because it was something that went against what he believed in. I could understand that, so I didn't give him a hard time about it and I let that go. In the end, he said that he wasn't sure if I could practice it in the house, but he also made it clear that he was willing to make a compromise and work things out. So I took that as a good sign. I think the reason why he wasn't really upset with me is because I was honest with him about it AND I didn't attack his beliefs.

2008-09-12 [ChibiTibs]: Well step-parents are usually the worst, I know all to well about that. It's good that your dad is understanding though, like my dad(though he didn't research or read books, just asked me to give him an idea of my beliefs then we agreed on some simple and reasonable rules and dropped it). Just go with your heart and if it dosen't work out you can cross that bridge when you come to it...and you can say you gave it a shot^-^

2008-09-12 [ChibiTibs]: Yeah, that's a troublesome situation to be in...watch your step there especially around a guy like that...my stepdad was one of those types and it got a bit too rough sometimes, nothing serious but still something that made quite an impact on my life

2008-09-12 [Rose_Spectre]: Alex, if your stepdad is such a cockmunching bastard, then why does your Mother put up with him? It isn't fair that he's so... It's cruel that he turned out to be such a scumbag. I'm sorry about your stepdad. You and you family shouldn't have tp put up with his B.S., and if he's the reason for what happened in your ninth grade year, then you should tell your mom if she doesn't know. If she does know, then I would get out of that house as soon as I could. It's not a healthy situation, because he's using his authority as a "parent"(complete B.S., if you ask me) to get what he wants, and not what is good for you. I'm glad your real dad understands, love. I wish there were more parents like that out there.

2008-09-13 [Lasagna Hater]: *nods* I know, but the only problem is that she gave birth to his demonspawn daughter who is now five years old. When she was married to my real dad, she was oh so desperate to divorce him, even though I was three, maybe four and my sister being one maybe two years old. But now she doesn't want to get a divorce 'cause Goddess forbid the demonchild is affected by the divorce. Oh yeah, and he's Catholic, so for him, divorce is really frowned upon. I tried to tell her that he's the reason for me being so upset, but she wouldn't listen and the only thing that she was concerned about was how much it would cost to bury my ass. *sighs wearily* Thank the Goddess I'm only staying here until I get my 2-year degree then I'm gonna live on campus for my B.A.

2008-09-13 [Lasagna Hater]: And my sister is moving away after she gets her 2-year degree, so she'll be out of the house at the same time as me. I would move out sooner, but right now I'm economically unable to because even if I had a job, I don't have the credentials to get a decent paying job, one whose wages will pay for the utilities, groceries, rent, etc. So yeah, I'm pretty muched screwed until I get my A.A. I'm just glad that I changed my major from psychology to foreign language (interpreting) during my first semester, so I won't be here longer. I don't have to start over because I just got started. I have an appointment with a counselor on Wednesday at five so I can get things going finally. *sighs and shakes her head*
